Generally peaceful Cichlid that can be kept in a community tank setting. Water quality is important to this fish as it is susceptible to poor water quality or swings in water parameters. They feed by obtaining mouthfuls of substrate and sifting through it, therefore a sandy substrate is recommended to prevent injury. Once settled, this specie does feed from the water column. They would need to be fed with fine graded prepared foods, small live or frozen food like bloodworms. To a max size of 20-25cm.
